The aircraft is used in both commercial and special mission markets and continues today to cover great varieties of missions such as Air Ambulance, Search and Rescue operations, VIP and corporate shuttle or transport to name a few. Manufactured in the 90s and early 2000s, the D328 is a Regional aircraft that is certified in 85 countries around the world and still currently operated in many countries by major airlines. As part of the package, the company also purchased the Dornier 428 TC and other assets. Nearly a century later, 328 Support Services GmbH (328SSG) was founded and took over since the Type Certificate rights for the Dornier 328 platform (D328®) from Avcraft back in January 2006. Over the course of its long lifespan Dornier Flugzeugwerke produced many notable designs for both the civil and military markets and is still recognised today as one of aviation pioneer.
